Snow Days - Cold Days

As stated in my previous post - last Thursday was a pretty nasty day here in East Texas. We survived the Valentine's Day party at Nolan's school and then ran some errands in Tyler and headed home. It was truly amazing to me how instantly the weather could change from nasty, sleet filled rain to beautiful, peaceful snow!! This is what it looked like when we went to bed Thursday night:





And this is what we woke up to Friday morning (along w/ no power from 3 a.m. Friday until 1 p.m. Saturday):











Then the fun began!!!











Then the not so fun part came - night fall didn't bring back the electricity!! We went into Chandler to get a bite to eat and then snuggled down in the living room!! Thank goodness for sofa couches, fireplaces, and a wonderful hubby that got up every hour on the hour to put more wood on the fire!! Unfortunately, the sun rise did not bring the electricity or much warmth. Again, we went into Chandler for some breakfast and came home, stoked the fire, snuggled more on the couch impatiently awaiting the power to come back on. We decided to give it until 3 p.m. and then we'd head to Tyler to the RV. Thankfully it came on around 1 p.m. and it was back to business as usual!! The power outage really brought to mind how much we take for granted!!
