Well, at least the last part of it! That evening, I went for a second walk of the day with a friend of mine. We've walked the subdivision many times. Actually, that's how I met her when we first moved into the neighborhood in September 2003. I walked the neighborhoods many times and one day she stepped out of her house and introduced her self and since then we've been waling buddies!! Back to the story - as we made our way around the cul-de-sacs and came to the last one - a huge chocolate lab came running out of his yard and literally jumped on me. His huge front paws landed on my shoulders! You should've seen the fierceness in his face!! Scary!!! We both knew him and have seen him many times before! We're thinking that his "children" were in the yard and he was just being protective! It took a few minutes for me to regain my composure and continue the walk. We made it back to my house and it took me a while to calm down. Robert and I finished the evening as usual - dinner, dishes, TV, bath and bed. Well, come 4 a.m. I felt something strange - you guessed it: MY WATER BROKE!! I was scared to move - realizing that there was no turning back!! After a few minutes, I get up to go to the bathroom and it was verified!! MY WATER BROKE!!! I woke Robert up and off we went!! We were excited because that date was Nolan's actual due date - 03/04/05! We thought that it would be cool if he'd have that birth date!! Trying to make a long story short - by 6 pm. I was only dilated to an 8 and my cervix was swelling shut!! I opted to get an epidural in hopes that it would relax me and I would continue dilating. No such luck!! The doctor came in and was very apologetic and said we'd have to do a C-Section. At that point, I was ready for it and my main concern was for Nolan. Funny incident: they brought Robert into the wrong operating room at first! I couldn't figure out what was taking him so long to join me!! Nolan did "make it out" on 03/04/05 - barely. Shortly after 11 pm.
What a fun birthday!!
