Straight Forward

...just like his dad!! I have (at least that I can remember) 2 "Out of the mouths for today that I'd like to share!!

This morning it seemed like both Nolan and I woke up on the wrong side of bed. We were both Crabby Patties - which usually is daddy's job but since he's not home I guess we had to pick up the slack!! Nolan's getting really into the mouthy stage - I know, it's hard for ya'll to believe but thankfully it's mainly just to me!! (I like to think, anyway!) And I wasn't up for it this morning. More so than usual!! As we were walking into school - I apologized for being grouchy which led him to apologize too! We had a discussion about attitudes and needing to change them. We walked into his classroom and I told Mrs. Youngblood that both of us were having a rough morning and Nolan adds: "Yes, we are and we're looking for "apple"tude adjustments!!" Mrs. Youngblood and I just shared that knowing mother look!!

Also, lately, I've been asking Nolan why I have to remind him to use his manners. We had that same discussion today - a few times!! This evening he asked for another piece of pizza and I said "Please" and followed it w/ "Why do I always have to remind you to use your manners?" To which he replied "I have to remember things for you - you can remind me to use my manners!!" Not in an ugly tone - just matter-of-factly!! Which is so very true - I joke w/ people that he's my memory - which is mostly true!!
