And how is YOUR Friday the 13th going??

Just in case there is any question why I dread going to the dentist - this should kill the cat!! (You know, curiosity killed the cat...). Monday evening, Robert and I were discussing, again, how we really need to commit ourselves to a diet. Especially after he went to a podiatrist and was diagnosed w/ Plantar Flacitis. (Sorry if it's misspelled - too lazy to ck). And besides stretching and wearing diff shoes it was suggested that he needed to loose some weight. (So do I so I'm feeling his pain - emotionally) Anyway, Tuesday night at the supper table he was telling me about his healthy lunch he had and I then proceeded to tell him that God winked at me that morning! (Or the devil did - which I'm thinking is more of the case!!) I told him that as I was sneaking a handful of Whoppers, I chomped down and broke what I thought was a tooth. We previously discussed how we needed to get rid of all of the chocolates that he just purchased. Me, being brought up the way I was, didn't want to "waste" it by throwing it away!! Back to the story: I called my dentist and the receptionist said that they only had a dentist in on Thursdays. I went yesterday @ 3 and, thank goodness, it was only a crown that was broken. They proceeded to prep me for a new crown and charged me $980 for the crown and visit. I went to pick up Nolan from his dad's office 'cause I tried 3 diff people w/o avail. And I told Robert what was done. After the fact, we both felt we were being ripped off because it was actually a tooth that had a crown done and then a root canal. The root canal was done THROUGH the crown. But after speaking w/ the doctor that did the root canal, which was very sympathetic, he does the root canal but not crowns!! This being done probably created stress on the crown which in turn 'caused the crown to break 4 months after root canal. The picture below is of the temporary crown that came off last night - 3 hrs aft it was "cemented" on. That, needless to say, added fuel to the fire. I left a message at the dentist's office last night as to what occurred and asked them to call me back. They finally called back (after I called again first thing this morning) and I made an appt @ 10:30 this a.m. to get it glued back on. In the meantime, I tried to cancel the payment. In the meantime, Robert had already called the dentist office and the specialist that did the root canal. After doing some research online, Robert found out that the dentist that owned the DentaCare branches was practicing on an expired license. Expired 15 months ago!! Long story short - we should be getting our charges reversed and it was offered that I come in and get the new crown for free - UH NO, THANK YOU!! I will keep my Vicadin available and wait until Monday to get it taken care of!! Moral of the story - keep Robert Eckeberger on your side!!

  1. Well My Friday 13th included a fat bill from the plumber to fix a leak that resulted in us not having water last night because it was all gushing out of the meter box into the streets. Super! Sorry about the tooth, that sucks. I hope that jerk gets fired...that's nuts! Like your new music! Nice. Neely got her package today, she LOVED LOVED LOVED it! Too cute shoes. Happy Valentines. I'll call y'all tomorrow.

  2. That's crazy! So, what's gonna happen to the dentist now? And why on earth did he not renew his license?? Hope you can get your tooth fixed and for a better amount! My Friday was actually nice. The boys went to town to get haircuts and came back with candy and perfume for me! Then we went to my nephew's basketball game and out to eat. Nothing bad! Keep up the great bloggin!
