About Our Trip

..sorry that it's taken so long to finish blogging about our Arkansas Christmas trip! Things have happened since then - like a whole new year!!

We had Christmas Eve dinner:

No, your eyes aren't deceiving you - that is pre-made sides!! I wanted to make everything but Robert insisted to serve ready-made veggies. Who was I to argue!?!? It was yummy!! We brought along a Turducken from Hebert's out of Lindale (http://www.hebertsmeats.com/contactus.asp). Soakin AWESOME. (We had their Boneless Chicken Breast stuffed w/ Jalapeno Dressing for New Year's - AWESOME also!!)

After supper we all settled in our jammies to watch "It's A Wonderful Life" and afterwards us parents anxiously awaited the little ones to fall asleep so that we could let Santa in!! Nolan had no troubles but it took a little while for Neely to settle in!!

Christmas morn we woke up to snow!!!!!!

Robert, Laura, Dallas and the back of Neely:

We enjoyed opening presents w/ Laura and family.

Robert made Christmas breakfast and the Allmons debated to hit the snowy/icy roads. They decided to brave it and headed out (and made it home safely!!). We missed them but enjoyed some quiet family time:

Robert and Nolan playing w/ one of Nolan's new toys. A video hunting game:

The following day we decided to go sight-seeing. We went to a cavern, an old grist mill, a glass chapel just to name a few:

Cosmic Cavern

War Eagle Mill

The Thorncrown Chapel. I was really disappointed that we couldn't get closer and/or take a look inside - there was a wedding taking place.

One of the coolest sights (to us that don't get out much) were the icicles that formed as the rain water was running down the mountains.

We had a wonderful trip - hated to have to come home!!
